An Op Art inspired work. Bulges and Dents is a two tile tessellation where each tile is a tessellation. In one tessellated tile a mathematical function manipulates the drawing coordinates of a regular grid of tiles to appear to be pushed in (dents) while the other manipulates the drawing coordinates of a regular grid of tiles to appear to be pushed out (bulges). The mathematical function to do this was written by Christopher Scussel.
